Safe working at height

Advice
Everyone who is responsible for health and safety in the workplace knows how dangerous it can be to work at height. Just putting one foot wrong can have enormous consequences. It is very important to recognise the risks in order to avoid them. Whether this relates to working on roofs, climbing masts or maintaining silos: a fall can be life-threatening. Intersafe has expert Sales Engineers and Safety experts in-house who can help you minimise the risk of a fall. For example, through a professional on-site inspection or by carrying out a thorough Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E). They can also come up with clever solutions to make the situation safer.

Collective fall protection
Fall protection can be separated into collective and personal protection against falling. Installing temporary handrails, setting up platforms or raising parapets are examples of collective fall protection measures. Intersafe can introduce these sort of facilities on site. Quickly and effectively.

Vertical systems
The correct means are not always to hand in order to be able to reach high-lying places in safety (for example during maintenance processes). That is why Intersafe’s range includes cage ladders, platform steps and climbing systems, as well as portable professional ladders and stairs. Our Sales Engineer will be pleased to help you select the safest way up.

Personal fall protection
Where collective provision is not possible, fall protection using a harness is a safe alternative. You can choose from a wide range of harnesses for different types of work. Since every situation is different and the type of work to be undertaken can also affect the safety measures needed, there is no ‘standard’ fall protection solution. A window cleaner has very different requirements from a scaffolding assembler. But whether you need self-rolling ballast, lifelines or hooks, Intersafe has the right resources in house. And can give you expert advice on how to use them.

Lifeline systems and anchorages
In order to be able to work in 100% safe conditions with harnesses, these retaining items need to be attached somewhere. The facilities required to provide this are not always available. Intersafe supplies and installs these facilities adapted to the business situation such as ceiling anchor points, wall eyes or cable systems. This enables account to be taken of peak loads that can occur in an actual fall. Strict requirements are laid down about the quality of these items in order to be able to manage these forces.

Training and service
Working with fall protection equipment requires clear instructions to be given to the user. But even that does not guarantee safety. Individual training or specific instruction on working at height is also recommended. There is even a training course for ‘rescue at height’. Ask our Sales Engineer about it.
Because fall protection equipment is annually approved and inspected, Intersafe has specially trained inspection staff for this purpose. They can inspect your fall prevention protection, fall systems and portable climbing materials on site. By using this service you can be sure that you always have good and safe equipment. Equipment that is kept in top condition for the safety of the users!
